Rob Cohen – “Off The Wall, On The Wall” Exhibition 2011

rob-cohen-press-releaseLocal Painter and illustrator, Rob Cohen was born in Sheffield 1972, after studying at Art College for 4 years, he qualified in Art & Design in 1993, during this time he did work experience with The Designers Republic, which opened his mind to using a computer to aid his own illustrations, Jobs & Projects, cutting his teeth locally in Sheffield Designing Posters and Flyers for The Leadmill, Sheffield Drop and other Venues across the city,

Rob got involved in the Sheffield music scene, working on, in and with Local Sheffield Bands, Illustrating anything from artwork for Shirts, Posters and Flyers and Album Covers. “Combining Art & Music within the Projects I have worked on has always inspired me to create bright individual styles to suite the music I have been involved with, pulling in influences of some of the great artists I studied during my time at art college, from Andy Warhol, Van Gogh through to Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimpt.”

On the whole this exhibition of work “OFF THE WALL, ON THE WALL” covers a wide selection of 20 Album Covers done for bands in the Sheffield area, done between 1991 and 2011, some are prints from paintings, some are screen prints and some are just digital mixed media, but all are created from the mind of Rob Cohen, the exhibition runs Through Sheffield Showcase¬†on Cambridge Street from the 2nd week in Oct through to 1st of Nov 2011.
